Bromocriptine is a dopamine-like substance mediating agent between nerves in the brain by binding to one of its receptors in the tissues of dopamine. At the same time, it prevents the secretion of prolactin, a hormone that enables milk to be released from the breasts from the anterior lobe of the pituitary, a small gland at the base of the brain.
